Author Spotlight Challenge

April 1, 2018

Today is the day!  After participating in an Author Spotlight of my own, I thought to myself, "This is genius!"  What better way to get to know fellow authors and build a network of people who are all in the same boat you are?  So, I came up with the Author Spotlight Challenge.

Here was my initial Goal:  30 authors in 30 days.  I gave myself a mere 10 days to find authors who were willing to participate and to compile and schedule all of them.  What was I thinking!!!!

Luckily I was able to pull it off (High-Five to myself).  Not only did I find 30 amazing Authors to spotlight but more than 50 have now submitted a request to participate.

I am so excited to announce that after April I will continue to do Author Spotlights every Saturday (Spotlight Saturday) on my Website and Facebook Page so you will be able to continue to meet incredible people and discover new books to enjoy.

With April 1st being Easter and April Fools Day, I thought it was best to do my spotlight today so that the author's participating will have the best social media traffic possible and not be overlooked with everyone hopping around.  So here it goes....

****Author Spotlight Katie Polen***

Katie Polen is a Self-Published YA Fantasy Author the hails from Columbus, Ohio.  Go Buckeyes!  Writing a book was always a dream of hers with a few failed attempts in her youth.  It wasn't until she became a mother and felt herself fading away did she find her writer's voice.

This, partnered with the confidence of a family member completing their first published work and a new motto of NO FEAR provided the perfect conditions for her to finally accomplish a dream.

Here are some fun facts about Katie:

Do you have another job other than being a writer?

Yes, I am a Corporate Accountant (no I don't do taxes)

Did you ever think you would be unable to finish your first novel/novella/short story?

Absolutely!  However, creating deadlines for myself helped me push on the get my first novel completed.

What inspired you to write?

Books have always been a sense of comfort and enjoyment.  Create a world of my own seemed so exhilarating and it was something I could do just for myself.

Please check out Katie's Book Elliana and the Keepers (There is a Goodreads Givaway going on through April 30th!)

“Elliana, they are coming for you!”…Elliana wakes from a weird dream to discover her entire world is about to be turned upside down. When her parents tell her that she was adopted and that she is a descendant of Zeus she gets thrown into a battle she didn’t even know existed.

The Demigods of the world are in a civil war and her mother has hidden Elliana to protect her. But, that may not be all she was trying to protect. Elliana is quickly attacked by Druids, Demigods of Hades, who are seeking out any Demies that could be a threat.

She is saved by a Keeper, demigod warrior who protects earth, who vows to protect her. Along her journey, she discovers that her mother has stolen an important artifact that can change the fate of the world as they know it. Her mother is arrested by the Council of Keepers and it is up to Elliana to discover the truth and help protect the people of earth.

What is your next/latest project?
