Alison Ingleby is a young adult fantasy and sci-fi author and disaster geek. She spends her days wondering what the future will be like, and hoping it's not as bad as the worlds in her head.
When not writing, Alison loves reading, Yorkshire Tea and hiking in the mountains. Her dream is to live in a Scottish castle by a loch. (Preferably one with central heating and hot water).
Here are some fun things about Alison:
Do you have another job other than being a writer?
I work part time as a freelance copywriter and co-host the Crypto News Podcast.
Did you ever think you would be unable to finish your first novel/novella/short story?
Frequently! I ended up re-writing 90% of the first draft of Expendables. It really needed it and was a much better book as a result but I did sometimes wonder when the editing was going to end. I also struggled getting the first draft down of my current project, Infiltrators. What inspired me to keep going was the knowledge that I had lots of readers waiting to find out what happened after Expendables finished.
What inspired you to write?
I've always been an avid reader and loved making up stories. NaNoWriMo gave me the confidence that I could write a full-length book and listening to The Creative Penn podcast inspired me to become an indie author.
What has been your most successful avenue to get reviews on Amazon?
Building a team of readers who are happy to review and asking people!

Fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent and The Maze Runner will love this fast-paced dystopian thriller, the first in a breathtaking new series.
What is your next/latest project?
I'm currently editing Infiltrators, which is the sequel to Expendables and Book 2 in The Wall Series. I'm planning to launch this at the end of May. I'm also working on some short stories for anthologies and to give away to members of my Readers' Club, and starting to plot out The Wall Series Book 3.
